This was a gift for my brother's dog, he has trouble walking on our wood floors. He usually walks backwards and slowly because he likes to run so he slips everywhere. He was scared walking in the house until I bought him these shoes. He didn't take long to adjust, he ran around the house and now likes to pick on other dogs because he can run away from them. Thank you!Danielle M.

Didn't work well for my dog
After getting a pair that was too large (although I did the prescribed measuring method), we got a smaller size. Those kept rotating and slipping off too, and so we finally got our dog's hair cut (he had been injured so he went four months between haircuts, rather than two months). The fur on his legs is now short, but there is not much improvement in the boots staying on his feet or keeping from rotating. I believe those who posted to say the boots greatly helped their dogs, but my guess is that some dogs have differently-angled feet or different modes of walking which make the traction boots work well for them. For our dog, the longest he has gone without a rotated boot is about 20 minutes. I may experiment with adding some fabric and another Velcro strap to have the boot reach further up his leg.

See review re socks
We ordered the ultra doggie socks and these boots for our Duck Toller who had immense difficulty keeping his feet under him. We have not tried the boots as yet due to the socks providing such a difference for him and his mobility.
Please take the time to see the review for the socks.
We were fortunate enough to have ordered both items after researching several on line products. (not to discount the other products but after speaking with the makers of this and other products who were all exceptionally helpful in discussing their products suitability for our circumstance this was the one we decided upon).
The positive impact for our beloved friend is immeasurable.beth

work to keep iceballa out of pads
Easy tand put on and off.
Stretchy, which helps when you have a large dog
Wear out fairly quickly with regular use
Pads come apart, so fabric glue is a temporary fix
Short nails a must--nails wear through easily, too
Work for a winter season.. Unknown

Works for awhile
I have a 15 year old Chow Chow who slips and slides on our new hardwood floors. I bought the booties for her to wear inside. At first the booties kept her from slipping. However they constantly turn 180 degrees on her paw and I have to keep turning them around. Also, after a couple of months the thread in the soles deteriorated and the leather started flopping around. I tried to resew the soles but once again the thread disintegrated. Also the soles lose their grip after a few months, even after washing them. Bottom line, they work for a few months, but then need to be replaced.Unknown

I've bought at least 5 sets of these boots over the last few years! I've tried lot of different brands and these are the best! I'm a little disappointed that Ultra Paws made the Velcro strip wider in the last few years , they still work well, but just don't seem as comfortable for my pup.
Thanks for making such a good product! Unknown

Ordered these for my 13-year-old doberman who has a sore on his toe. They've helped his sore heal because they're so soft on the upper side and the velcro closure makes the boot stay on his paw so he can't lick it and neither can his baby brother and sister. I also love the traction part. He doesn't slip and slide and hurt himself. I ordered another set because of the high quality. (They also wash beautifully.)Merry Hritsuk

boots don't extend far enough above foot
Our 16-year old cockapoo has been sliding on wood floors. The size small we ordered fit his paws well but they keep revolving and slipping off his feet. The part of his leg behind his paws (the pastern?) is weak so that it's almost horizontal. The boots don't extend high enough above his foot, so they slip off very easily. If they were higher, perhaps with a second fastening for tightening at two points, they could stay on. It's disappointing because for the few minutes they stayed on and hadn't turned around, they certainly helped him walk on our wood floors. Maybe these boots only stay on for dogs with short smooth fur, but if so that should be made clear in the product description.
ULTRA PAWS RESPONSE: THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK. FOR YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION I WOULD RECOMMEND OUR DURABLE BOOTS ACTUALLY FOR INDOORS. THE DURABLE BOOTS WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL STABILITY WITHOUT ANY SPINNING. IT IS HARD TO SAY WITH THE TRACTION, MOST OF THE TIME WHEN THE BOOTS SPIN IT IS DUE TO INCORRECT SIZING OR SOMETHINGS NOT TIGHTENING THE STRAPS ENOUGH. HOWEVER, WITH A SIZE SMALL AND YOUR BREED DOG, I AM NOT SURE THAT SIZE IS THE ISSUE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL US TOLL FREE AT 800-355-5575 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR DOG IN AN ULTRA PAWS BOOT THAT WORKS WELL FOR THIS PROBLEM!MC
