To extend the life of your dog boots we recommend applying Shoe Goo to patch small holes in the sole that can appear with wear. See Product SG.
Loosely fasten Velcro closure, wash in cold water delicate cycle; hang to air dry.
Our Airedale runs the fence line and charges around our one acre yard and amazingly the boots stay on his paws. We tried other brands and were constantly having to search for where they fell off. This is a ninety mile an hour dog that constantly got seeds stuck between his paws. The last vet visit was $450 to have them surgically removed. So glad for ultra paws. They protect his paws and prevent him from digging up the yard! Karen M Hans

I've invested a lot of money in boots for my service dog. Sizing has been a nitemare and so has quality at other places. I have arthritis and pulling on snug boots is excruciating. But these, with their wide split side opening have been awesome! She had experience with boots before so her walking in them isn't too bad. We are still trying to learn the velcro pattern but I expect we will be experts soon. :)Lisa

The boots are easy to put on and provide excellent protection against salt and ice. Our puppy is happy to let me put them on. They're pretty durable; our last pair lasted for three winters. Oh, and they're good looking, tooUnknown

Although the boots seem very durable, they are difficult to put on a very cooperative Goldendoodle. Tim

Ultra Paws Durable Dog Boots
My 12 year old German Shepard is in love with Ultra Paw Boots, I sent for a large initially but had to exchange for a medium due to the fact I incorrectly measured my dogs foot. For being the size he is, I was shocked he wore a medium boot. Well needless to say while waiting for the medium boot to come in the weather got extremely snowy icy and cold. My dog would hesitate to go into the freezing temperatures and wouldn't want to leave the porch without his boots. Now with his boots he is eager to get up and go. They keep him secure on ice, snow and rainy weather. He even likes to occasionally wear them inside on our hardwood floors. I really believe they give him support from slipping. They are extremely durable and true to size. My animal as well as myself are thankful for Ultra Paws, they have made a huge difference in my ol' boys world. Unknown

These boots fit well and are easy to get on and off. I purchased them to protect my pup's paws from salted sidewalks and they have no problem staying on during our leashed walks. I have not tried them during off leash walks when she is running around. Overall, I am pleased with the quality and function of the boots. Jillian

The double velcro straps on these booties really work to keep them on my dog, and the design of the boots makes getting them on her easy to do.Unknown

My dogs feet kept getting hurt by the salt that people throw out on the sidewalk so I bought these boots to protect her feet. It took a minute for her to get used to the boots but once she realized they protected her paws she started running around through the snow like a maniac enjoying herself. The boots went on very easily and staid on the whole time despite all her running around. Unknown

Our Dog with DM
Our Border Collie mix, Sam I Am, has DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), which causes his rear paws to knuckle. He's worn the Durable Booties for about 6 months to protect his rear paws from getting sores. These booties fit well and are easy to get on and off; they stay on great because of the 2 velcro straps. The only issue Sam has with the booties is that the material used for the sole and toe area wears out very quickly. There's also not enough of the material on the top of the booties, so Sam's knuckling wears through the tops of the booties very fast. Our solution is to reinforce the sole of the booties, and especially around the top and bottom of the toe area, with several layers of DUCT TAPE. This prolongs the life of the booties to several months. Duct tape must be removed and re-applied about once a week. We rotate multiple pairs of booties so we don't have to re-apply the duct tape as often. Sam recommends buying 4 pairs of Durable Booties for a dog with DM, and a large roll of duct tape.
Sam also has 2 pairs of the Rugged Booties which have a heavier material on the sole and toe area. Though these booties are too stiff at the ankle for normal walking, Sam wears them when he's in his Walkin Wheels wheelchair. They work well for this purpose because his rear legs are supported more in the cart, with his paws just grazing the ground when he walks. The stiffness of the Rugged Booties helps Sam's rear feet not knuckle as much while he's walking in his cart. The humans also apply duct tape to the Rugged Booties as they still wear out too fast from Sam's paw dragging.
Sam's 4 star rating: 5 stars for design and fit, 3 stars for durability.Kay
