Our 5yr old mixed breed dog started losing nails a month and a half ago and after bandages came off I bought ultra paws. After receiving the third set of boots I found the instructions to add a 1/4 inch to the width measurement. She disliked them until she realized I would play ball if she wore them. Now she holds her paws up so I can put them on. Unfortunately they tend to roll upside down, and we'll have to wait a day or two because her most recent new nail became irritated.
ULTRA PAWS RESPONSE: WE ARE HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE BOOTS ARE HELPING AND THAT YOUR PET HAS BOUGHT INTO WEARING THEM! IF THEY ARE FLIPPING/ROLLING, TRY TO APPLY JUST A LITTLE MORE PRESSURE WHEN TIGHTENING THE BOTTOM STRAPS. GETTING THE BOTTOM ONE TIGHT SHOULD STOP THAT FROM HAPPENING.Unknown

My dog took about half a block to get use to these, it was so funny at first watching him walk, but then he got use to them & realized his paws weren't burning!! I wish they had an dbl extra large, my Akita has wide paws and the XL i have to work on getting his paws in…kinda like a small child and shies ;(
but they save him from the very hot boardwalks and sand at the beach!!Nancy

these run huge
Our golden is used to wearing fleece booties in the winter and I wanted him to be able to take walks with me on hot pavement during the summertime without scorching his feet. However, when we received the size recommended for goldens, they are way too big around the foot pad/toe area- and my dog has fairly wide feet! Will be returning these! Wish I could find some that weren't hot to wear in summer, yet were more form conforming and not so floppy. My dog revertd back to the novice "feet marching high" as if he'd never worn booties before with these!
Ultra Paws Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our Cool Boots. The Cool boots have a thicker sole then the Traction Boots. The interior of the boot, along with the recycled tire sole, will protect paws on any hot surface. This is especially important this time of year! Because the boot is thicker then the boots your dog is accustomed to, this may have your dog doing the "high-step" until they get use to the new feel. The Cool boots sizing is slightly different than our Fleece Traction boots. Please refer to the sizing instructions at the bottom of the product description tab. If you have questions or need help with sizing please call our toll free number and a customer service agent will be more than happy to help. Unknown

Ordered 3rd set. Great on wood floors. Traction wonderful. Never come off when they run or play or anything. Put them on in the AM. And take them off at bedtime. No sores or anything. Have a giant schnoodle and standard poodle. Can't go without the cool boots! Thank you!!!Paula

They were the best find that works for both of our dogs!!!
We bought these for our standard poodle and giant schnoodle. We have would floors and they would just fall down all the time. We tried just the socks with the rubber bottom but they kept running out of them or pulling them. These boots protect them against the hot concrete and chemicals the golf course puts down on the fairways. We put them on them in the AM and remove them at bedtime. Great quality!!! Just note - be sure to size correctly though otherwise they won't work.Unknown

I got these boots for my boxer-lab mix for the hot sidewalks of Phoenix. They're very well constructed. I especially like the double straps to help secure them. The sole is sturdy and I think my dog's paws are well-protected during his summer walks. Unknown

Not the Best
After reading many reviews on the Ultra Paws cool dog boots I felt really confident about purchasing them. I live in AZ and in the summer it can easily reach around 115 degrees so I was in desperate need to find dog boots. I ordered them on line and they were shipped in about two day so I was really pleased with that. As soon as they came I put the dog boots on and took my dog for a walk. We were only out for about 20 minutes and three different times the dog boots kept coming off, it was frustrating. The front left paw bootie came off twice, and her back leg one as well. It seems to just slip right off, not too pleased with them.
ULTRA PAWS COMMENT: THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO POST A REVIEW. IF THE BOOTS ARE PROPERLY SIZED AND SECURED, THEY SHOULD NOT FALL OFF. PLEASE CALL US DIRECTLY TO SEE HOW WE CAN GET YOUR DOG INTO A BOOT THAT WORKS AT 800.355.5575.Unknown

Cool Paws Should Not Be Sold to Tiny Dogs
These boots are well constructed and look like a quality boot. They are made for a larger dog, not a tiny dog like the one I was buying for. If you have a 15 lb dog or more I say they are incredible for hot sidewalks.
I don't feel that there are any quality boots out there presently that fit my needs for my tiny dog. However, I hear that this company is definitely aware of the need for tiny dogs and they plan to come out with one maybe two pair that really fit. I am very excited to see the new boot for tiny dogs.
